With the KOTEBA Ensemble of Abidjan

1986

In 1986, wishing to leave the cocoon formed by the ballet and become a more independent musician, Mamady joined Souleymane Koli's troupe,Koteba in Abidjan, and he stayed with it for a year and a half.

- Participated in the Third Festival of French-Speaking Countries in Limoges.

- Participated in the "Ten Days of Africa" at Troyes, along with Touré Kunda and Mory Kanté.

1987

- Participated with the troupe in the production of the film, "La Vie Platinee" ("Life in Platinum") by Claude Cadiou, coproduced by the French television channel, TF1, and the French Ministry of Culture, and filmed in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

New rythms are created for the musical part of the film.

- Performed at the South-North Summit, at "Climats au Botanique", and at P44 in Brussels, with the shows, «Atoukasse » , «Fanico »  et «Adana Champion».

- Numerous shows in December at l'Espace Delvaux as well as a percussion workshop at the Circus School in Brussels.
